Heres the deal, my family had to move our modem upstairs so my dads new computer could get internet. MY xbox 360 used to direct connect to the modem in order to get Xbox live. So no xbox live for me unless i get a wireless adapter for it. But those things are 80 or more dollars so i tried other ways. I found a way to connect to Xbox live through my laptop by plugging them both in by an Ethernet cable and by making my wireless network share with other connections.
So i did the hook up, turned on sharing, and turned on my xbox and had xbox live and it worked great!
Then i went on a spring break vacation and use a hotels ethernet cord to get internet on my laptop.
Came back home to play some Xbox, wont even work anymore.
I tried everything, restarted my networks, restarted the modem upstairs, made sure the ethernet cable was plugged in right, everything!
Basically i tried everything except messing with the IP and DNS setting.MY xbox tells me that they are both set to automatic, my IP seems fine its got all the numbers, but my DNS has no numbers in its primary and secondary servers.
When i try to test the connection to xbox live it tells me that i am basically not even connecting to a network.
If anyone could help it be greatly appreciated!
