Got a little problem here so I thought I would come where everyone bitches and moans.

My problem is this: I have too damn little cash at the moment and I can only eat crappy white rice, pasta and stuff like that. I hate it. I used to eat like a king - plenty of meat, veggies, fruits- but now I gotta live on freakin' white rice and some eggs and It sucks....

Any fucking suggestions ?? I don't want to die of malnutrition

Is there a local church that you might be able to go to for help? Is it just you or do you have other's you are feeding? Sometimes when there are small children involved other organizations have programs like WIC that will help you till they reach 5 years old. There are others besides that as well.

But dried lentils and beans and some beef bouillon, then buy frozen packs of veggies. Frozen bags are around a buck. You can make beans, mash them and fry them like a burger...

To add a virtually free bit of meat to help flavor up those veggies, try chopping up one or more fingers into your meal. Now if you find yourself unable to use your own, ask to borrow a neighbor's finger. You could always buy some cheap fingers off the street, but you'll have to sanitize those before placing them into your food.

If you want I could give you a recipe for a good hearty finger stew.

Fuck that. You might as well just drink three glasses of saltwater every day. Fucking putrid.

While I agree that meat, fruits and veggies are of utmost importance, there are hundreds, thousands of ways to enjoy beans, eggs, rice, and noodles (not ramen).

Just make sure to remember one thing - YOU'RE ON THE INTERNET.

BLASPHERMER. Ramen is my soul source of food (besides the occasional pizza that someone else buys)
Ramen is delicious and comes in so many flavors it can never get boring!

bunch o shit.. protine is cheap... for instance a 3 lb log of ground beef only costs like 3.50.... for a single person, you consume like 1/4 lb of beef at a time in a properly mixed meal.. thats 12 meals of beef... use your shitty noodles, random condoment sauces and bases(bullion) to make goulash like meals...

take for instance you can take ground beef, elbow macaroni, beef base, worshtershire sauce, kethchup and a hotsauce(like the free packs you get from taco bell) to make a nice spicey beef noodle cassarole... all in one pan if you want..

you can get chicken breast on sale also... of course you can get cheap ass hot dogs for about a buck and mix it with mac & cheese.

if your into tuna you can get that cheap too...

The states usually have lower prices on food than we do, but the gap's been shrinking over the last couple of years.

You can get a box of rice for what, $3.50? Stock up on noodles when they go on sale. I usually have around ten pounds of assorted pasta on hand at any time. Get a good sale you can pick that up for around $20.

Fuck Prago, that stuff's shit. Canned tomato sauce runs a dollar fifty each. Don't get the glass jars, they're more expensive.

Someone mentioned bagged vegetables. Up here they start around $3 a bag, dunno what your prices are but it's cheap. Canned veggies are good on sale. Corn. Get some.

You can buy a bag of boneless chicken breasts for ten bucks or less for four pounds.

Shop at warehouse grocery stores. They have some good deals. I made a huge batch of stirfry that'll last me three days on less than $10.

Also: Marie Callender microwave dinners. On sale they run $2.50 and they're good.

Junk food may seem cheap but when you look at it you're paying alot and not getting much to show for it.

Beans are extremely cheap and can help flavor up some of your rice dishes. Also, if you get frozen fruits and vegetables they seem to be cheaper for some reason. For mornings rely on something small, like an orange, water, and one bowl of cereal. That breakfast is enough to get you started, but cheap enough to give you more money for your other meals. Good luck.

I used to eat dinner for $1.50 a day, all I can eat...

Jillian's bar and game zone used to run a daily all you can eat buffets. You only had to buy a drink. and soda's came with free refills. So I'd sit in the bar and eat whatever they were serving till I was topped off...

Ramen was created only for Pastapharian religious purposes. It is bland and lacks nutrition. It exists only because it rhymes with"Amen". It's not a food source. Really, it's worse than that. It dehydrates the fuck out you and fails to provide much energy for you metabolism.

You only did one post, so before I give ballin' on a budget nom-nom advice I need to know what your idea of junk food is. Is it McShit Burgerz? Is it grocery store frozen isle? Is is Kraft-Mac-n-Cheez? Give us more info. Better yet, post this where it belongs: Ask a ranter. You're more likely to get real answers. And when you do, provide details like your yum-yum budget and how much time you can allocate to food preparation.

I've been very poor (still am, actually, but anyway)... you can make ramen without the seasoning, or limit it... add a raw egg when it's boiling, add some veggies like broccoli.
Oranges are good for you and relatively cheap.
Last summer and fall we practically lived on pork. Get some beans, rice, pork and a veggie... Maybe chicken, it's not too expensive. Forget the beef if you're anywhere near MASS, it's outrageously expensive here.
Have you tried your local foodbanks? They'll at least provide some stuff like rice and beans, maybe some meat even, so you can use your cash on fresh items.
