Cannot see images from usb... help?

How can you view images from a usb. I opened the usb to view pictures but it says Photoviewer cant open this picture because it does not support the file format. So how can i view the pics..

The file format is HPTSMSMVP.JPG (.JPG)
Tried opening with different programs it doesnt work with any...
 
right click - open with- windows photo gallery or any photo viewer that came with windows
