Cannot Delete One File

I am having a problem with deleting a video file. It is defective and will not play and it is an unrecognized file format. Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you.

Try restarting your computer. The file was probably locked by another application.

I have d/l files that couldn't be deleted either. They usually have very long file names. Try selecting another file along with it (hold down CTRL and then left click on them) and then try deleting them at the same time. If all else fails, you can always copy all the files you want to keep to a new folder and delete original folder with the corrupted file. When you're done, rename the new folder to the old one.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was able to delete the file after restarting the computer, but I like the idea about deleting the folder with the corrupted file in it. Thanks
