I have both of these sick horrors.

I thought ferox was quite good, but holocaust was awful

I wasn't overstruck on holocaust,

holocaust is gruesome and gory, but I thought ferox was better

the ending to ferox creeps the hell out of me, and that eery music that's played as the credits roll up ... shudders.

I have both on DVD, I consider Holo to be an important film in the genre, and Ferox is just crap.

Ferox is the better of the two. I watched both of these lately, after not seeing either for many years, and Holocaust is way overrated. Takes an age to get going and the final scenes of the tribes "rebellion" are disappointing. It's only real strength imo is it's superior soundtrack and the scene of the impaled girl is remarkable considering the budget they had at the time. It really does look horrifying.
Ferox certainly has it's moments - the scene where the two girls are trapped in the pit about to be tortured and consumed and the dark haired one says "Don't cry, let's sing a song" is hillarious In it's defence tho, the "hooks thru the boobies" and castration scenes are far superior to anything in Holocaust.
I could have done without the real animal killings in both movies tho, particularly the scene where they decapitate that poor turtle and it's still bloody twitching five minutes later. AARRGGHHHH!!!!!

The dark haired girl's face right at the end of Ferox was actually more scary than the gruesome scenes of the film (in my opinion anyway)

the ending, where she is in that hall collecting a reward or something. really eery look on her face

Its important to note which versions of either of these people are viewing.

If you have UK dvd's of either film they are cut to shreRAB.

The US discs of both are the current definitive releases.

Neither is likely to get an uncut release in the UK anytime soon

I'm not sure if my cannibal discs are UK or american,

how do I know which country they were made in? will it tell you on the cover?

Neither movie will ever be released uncut here and its not due to the violence its due to the animal cruelty laws in this country.

The american-uncut versions are on ebay, I think you have to resort to ebay to get them.

I've only seen Holocaust, but I enjoyed it in a gross out sort of way.

If your disc has an 18 certificate on it then its a UK release which has most of the gross out scenes missing so they arent a true representation of these atrocious films

The US releases also have lots of extras - IIRC the UK ones dont have any

Cannibal Holocaust - shite film made by a total hack of a director, without the real animal cruelty in this film and the controversy that will always bring nobody would give two shits about this movie, total crap that isn't even worth watching
