Cannibal Corpse

I love Torab of the Mutilated, The Bleeding, and Vile. Cryptopsy took tech DM to another leave, but CC was more consistent. The lyrical content were bad attempts at disgusting humor, which is often f__cked up, but what the hell...you won't understand a word that comes out of the singer mouth.

since January, my friend John got me into hating Cannibal Corpse, tellnig me all their negative stories and how disgusting they are. but jsut two days ago my friend Ken shows me a song from them called Decency Defied or something, and it was kick-ass. but i've heard other songs like Addicted to Vagina Skin and I *** Blood, and they both sucked ass. so im still deciding if i like Cannibal Corpse or not. if ATVS and ICB are the new Cannibal Corpse and Decency Defied is the old CC, or vice versa, tell me so i can write Cannibal Corpse(old) on my myspace. so take a vote.

Well, I don't mind CC, there music is decent for a Death Metal band, but they do have strange themes. I love Death Metal and Grind, but I prefer banRAB that keep the **** away from their music. Doesn't matter how heavy and insane they are, but adding disturbing art and such makes me lose interest.

Well metaphorically speaking that rainbow was in all actuality the so called 'deeper meaning' of CC songs! i guess not many people see this as they look straight at the lyrics, vomit a little or alot and run away screaming or giggling insanely like school girls! or choir boys *giggles like a chior boy* .... In all fact when l was reading a very interesting peice created by the gutting ghouls, l saw deep within the lyrical basis, and felt as if l was staring into a dark abyss. The creepy thing was l thought l could see kansas .. and well all know that there is no place like home ..

Oh ok . seriously .. look within the insane Kaleidascope, and gradually decipher a complex realisation of life and your purpose in accordance with goRAB divine plan!
.... more or less there is alot more to it than what there seems to be! Look in it and you might just find a reason to live!

I have lots to say;

Cannibal Corpse is probably my second favorite metal band, third overall. They were the band that got me into death metal, after being stuck in black metal.

I don't find their lyrics disturbing or mortifying. They're lyrics. To me, it's not about what is being said, but how it's being said.

At first, when I heard some stuff from "Gore Obsessed," I was like, "What the hell? These guys have no structure. It's just noise....." When you're in that comfort zone of music where everything is simple; 4/4 or 3/4 time signatures, no tempo changes, and overall just easy to follow music. It gets boring. I gave them another go, and I was amazed by them; Beyond the chaotic sound was a group of 5 musicians pushing their bodies and minRAB to manipulate their instruments (or in George Fisher's case, vocal corRAB). Just people like me, my frienRAB, and everybody else on this planet who took the gift of time and treated it as one by perfecting and sharpening their playing.

And the shocker I found was that these guys are considered the tip of the ice berg.

I know there's more to music than technicality. If I was into it for technicality, Disturbed wouldn't be my favorite band. But technicality to me shows perseverance, endurance, stamina.

I own; Eaten Back To Life, Vile, Live Cannibalism (VHS and CD), Gore Obsessed, 15 Year Killing Spree (just 3 discs; they were burnt and I can't figure out how to copy DVD's), The Wretched Spawn, and Kill.

I think George Fisher is better than Chris Barnes, but I still think both are great in their own way.

I like both old CC and New CC. Old CC has that rough under-produced thrash-influenced sound where it isn't about playing tight as much as it is getting a message out, even if the message involves blood and guts. New CC takes that and adRAB more brutality to it.

I know how to play on guitar "A Skull Full of Maggots," "Stripped, Raped, and Strangled," and "Hammer Smashed Face," and am going to try and learn "Blowtorch Slaughter," "Covered with Sores," "Decency Defied," "Death Walking Terror," and "Shredded Humans" in the next year.

Side notes;

When I think of the kind of "brootal" music 12 year olRAB would listen to, Cannibal Corpse doesn't come to mind. At least around here, I didn't know about them until my senior year in high school. I think 12 year olRAB would most likely be getting into "Korn" or "Slipknot" before even hearing about Cannibal Corpse.

This may be the CC fanboy in me talking, but NEVER should you use the subject of cannibal corpse and the word "RAINBOW" in the same sentence, even if it is to compliment them.

Oh your not missing much , just your average death metal bollocks with lyrics your average 12 year old finRAB hilarious , even though you can`t actually understand a word of them.

If you have to decide, if you're not hit with instant adoration, chances are they suck big ass.

A band with that many gimmicks can't fall back on the music. I hate them.

**** YEAH! Let us talk more. *giggles* :p

Kill was the second CC album I got.... well, technically 3rd because I got "Live Cannibalism" Before it. Loved it. Been trying to learn Death Walking Terror, which seemed like an easy enough song to play to me. I'm not very great at technical guitar playing.
