Cancer in neck and throat

I had major surgery from throat cancer and now I have no voice. Its been almost 3 years and the cancer is gone but its impossible now to meet people. I also have no sense of smell at all now. I am hoping to meet people that might be in a similar situation and would be willing to try and help each other.I am in good physical shape otherwise but it would be nice to have someone preferably female to spend some time with as it gets so lonely being alone all the time.....Anyone have any ideas how I can meet someone?
 
Well, you could try a support group through the hospital. Another option would be to place a "friends" personals ad online and basically state what you did here. If you go to a gym or other type of venue, you could post something on their cork board about looking for someone to do activities with. Of course, use caution and meet these people in a public place first, since creeps troll all kinds of places to find victims. I know personally I would feel a lot more comfortable posting a flyer at my gym than on a web site.
