Cancelling contract w/ no charges help?

I know att allows it's customers to cancel the contract w/ out being penalized if they change the contract terms. I'm told this happens quite frequently but have no idea how to find out if they changed any little thing on me. Does anyone know where to find this information. I don't receive a paper copy of my bill, I use the internet solely to handle my bill payment. I'm looking to cancel and go with a different company and don't want to pay the outrageous cancellation fees. Any help at all would be great.

How long have you currently been with AT&T? If your nearing the end of the contract, then it might just be a giant waste of time.

If you are in the middle, or just signed, then I'm sorry, you might get stuck.

But, there might be a way.
The information I am about to provide is for informational purposes only. It is not intended to defraud any company, and myself, as well as CPF and all respective members hold no responsibility if the information listed below is used for any other purpose than informational.

1st, start here
AT&T Coverage Viewer
This is the coverage viewer for the entire AT&T network for the Untied States. AT&T, as well as most other major Cellular providers, have stipulations built into their contracts that allow current contracted members out of the contract with little or no cancellation penalty if one or more the following conditions are met
1) Customer is moving to an area with no current coverage, and the service provider has no intention of expanding their network to cover those areas within a certain time frame
2) The move by the customer is not a temporary move. For this condition to be met, the customer must be planning on staying (living) in that general "No Service" zone for 6 months or more
3) Active Military Customers can cancel their contract if orders are given to deploy either oversea's or to an area not serviced by the cellular provider.

With that said, AT&T does have the right to verify any information given to them. They may ask you, the customer, to provide documentation of the move; new place (address) of residence outside of service area; or a generalized copy of deployment orders by the US Government.
