Cancelled animated films

That would be Cat Tale, which according to one user in this thread has apparently resumed production. Not to mention the sites I keep seeing listing it for 2010.
 
Would Punk Farm count?

I remember around 2004 or so Dreamworks announced that they were gonna make this movie (based of a kids' book about a group of singing farm animals) but, it like...dissapeared off the face of the Earth since nobody mentioned it since the initial announcement O_o
 
Disney's Atlantis was going to get a DTV sequel and animated series, when the movie bombed Disney cancelled the DTV and strung together the finished animated series episodes that were finished into a dtv.
 
Plus, Dreamworks had their own Aztec-themed animated comedy, The Road To El Dorado, in production at the same time, so Disney probably wanted somthing to directly compete with them as always. :shrug:
 
Chris' Sanders follow up to Lilo and Stitch was to be a movie called American Dog, but after the post-Pixar buyout and John Lasseter became responsible for Disney Animation, he didn't care for the movie and Sanders was dropped and the project converted into Bolt and how Sanders ended up leaving Disney and eventually making How to Tame Your Dragon for Dreamworks Animation, which will be coming out in 2010.

Disney canned another movie, Fraidy Cat, which would have been a Hitchcock-styled murder mystery/comedy centered around a spoiled housecat.
 
From Dreamworks I remember Knuckles the Echidna movie and a Gorillaz movie. Hope some TZ member knows more about it.
 
A Gorillaz movie is one of those things that I'm suprised didn't pan out. Clearly the original creators have much love for the premise, doing things like the 'live' shows and even the puppet appearances at music events. Sadly, I think the popularity ship has sailed on such a film.
 
There was a fifth Bionicle movie that got scrapped because of the line's cancalation.

It would have tied up the clifhanger ending that was in the last film and would have introduced biomechanical Dinosaurs to the mix too.
 
Only at the very end, in a cliffhanger ending that would have lead into a third movie. This of course, was not known until Bionicle writer Greg F. posted an unused story treatment on the fansite that he often frequents.
 
There was a trailer for Cat Tale a while back, I think, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can view it now (the official site took it down)?

The line will be officially ending in Summer of 2010, replaced at the exact same time by a new, Bionicle-esque line. Interestingly enough, the names of the new figures actually sound like humans - and I've heard there rumors that Lego has been asked several times before by movie companies to make feature-length Bionicle movies with humans in them. This could possibly tie into the decision to cancel Bionicle - perhaps Lego is trying to find something that could be more marketable to demographics outside of 8-11 year old boys.
 
I recall there being a movie called Wild Side that Disney shelved after having spent over $100 million on and it was pretty far into production by that point. Rumor has it that the reason for its cancellation was something to do with the story having gay undertones in it(?).
 
Im not sure if it even went into production, but how about the Opus film? Berke even added a line between opus's eyes to make the character easier to animate, but too many disagreements and other factors caused the project to be cancelled.
 
According to an article (which references Jim Hill Media), the film was called "Wild Life" and was about nightlife and pop-culture starring anthropomorphic animals.
It contained a line of dialogue in which two gay characters joked about sex. It caused Roy Disney to cancel the film outright. (scroll down the link)
