Episodes - 13

Genre - Action

Summary - The modern-day story centers on a present-day story about a detective, a young man, a virus researcher, and a cat mascot character who are brought together in the Tokyo neighborhood of Shibuya by bizarre events with worldwide implications.

The first episode is out and it's pretty weird, but weird as in you want to see the second episode to find out what the hell is going on, the idea of using all your senses at once to get some kind of power is cool though.

Ah yes, Canaan. Lovely animation, love the OP AND ED which is a rare occurrence for me. Characters seems mighty fine too and it's fleshing out to be my top series this season.

Now, for all the WTF moments int he first ep I hope they dulge into that and start to explain things. Hopefully, from what I heard, one does not ahve to play the game to find out important info...

Actually, I found episode six to be the most interesting one so far. I think a lot happened, at least in terms of giving us a more well-rounded view of the storyline in Canaan. And now with the Ua Virus possibly being spread throughout the building, I'm getting the feeling that the pace will be more fast-paced starting off from here. My enjoyment factor went much up by a considerable amount watching this episode than it did for episode 5, and if it continues on this way I'll most likely give it a higher rating than it's current one (7 on MyAnimeList).

Canaan is based on the Wii game 428: Fūsasareta Shibuya de which I have no experience of myself. Kind of a spin-off but the game is not vital for the anime. Typical TypeMoon with WTF first ep though.

And yeah, that "sickness"...guess we will find that out.

Glad to see the Cabbie again. (he is my favorite character.)
Now we know that the mute, is NOT a mute (man what a power)
and Canaan now has another power. her
saving Miria and everyone else!
I dug the matrix inspired hallway bullet dodging part. It looked pretty killer even if you slowed it down.

On the flipside;
Other than the President gets caught too easy, the missile missing does NOT start a war? (no worries China, we drop borabs in your country, no hard feelings) and the Presidential logo flipping like a bad coin on the walls during the show, It was a decent balance act between action and story set up.

There were plenty of clues as to what the illness might be. They spoke of people who could see shapes when they heard sound and whatnot and the meeting with the fellow with the nudey secretary hinted that they'd tried to find a way to activate that sort of ability. The guys in the masks appear to me to be failed experiments who needed to die in order to hide the evidence.

I loved this first episode. Great animation and plenty of events to snag you from the get-go. I loved how it ended because, as Atomica knows, I'm all about Alphard right now and she's about to make a move.

@KT: Yes, a theory along that line went through my head too. Would make sense considering they were wearing masks and their perception of EVERYTHING might have been too strong for them without masks, causing them to go...splat.

Episode 08

Not too much happened here, they went on a road trip and we know that the guy admitted to being the one that destroyed the village. I think if that woman really wanted to kill Cannan she'd have just started talking to her. Interesting that Cannan lost her "colors" even then though she still can move and attack same as ever.

I saw this thread name and went 'What the Hell?!' Canaan is my first name. This is the first time I've ever seen it not refering to biblical sheeit.

In anime world, actual age is not equal to mental age. Small children who watched too much ero would have a mind of an old man. Welcome to ACG dimensions.

Sorry for getting off topic here.

Buying buns from a bike in the middle of Silk Road. Hmmm......My mind is focused on the detail on that Mitsubishi Pajero more.......

Episode 8 had less action, but was still good, seems since Canaan used her powers in episode 7 she can no longer see peoples colours which to her is almost like being blind as somebodies colour told her if they were a threat or how they felt, Maria, Canaan, Hakko, Santana and Mino have gone to find the town that was experimented on, on the way there Hakko attacks Canaan, she also had a flashback where it seemed like her son exploded from the virus, she must blame Canaan, also they met YunYun on the way selling meat buns, damn she gets around.

hahaha I think YunYun is awesome, I like how she's EVERYWHERE xD
I dont think that kid was infected, I think Hakko is infected and her voice releases some sort of sound that makes everyone hurt to dead. I still dont know her story very well and why she blames Canaan. The next episode is called FLOWER OF THE PAST
so maybe they'll explain a bit more of what happened.
it comes out tomorrow!! wooh!

Yup, Maria was infected with the UA virus but she survived thanks to the antivirus her dad developed though she doesnt remeraber anything since she suffers of amnesia.
I dont think Canaan is infected, she has synesthesia but maybe thats caused by the virus? i dont know.
In the last episode Hakko blames Canaan for something and she tried to kill her, but if she really wanted to kill her why didnt she just talk? instead she only moved her lips saying "its your fault"
Im exited to see the rest!
