Can you view media from your iPod Touch on your Xbox 360?

I connected my iPod Touch to my Xbox 360 Elite. I went to "Video" under "My Xbox" and when I pressed "A" and looked through the list of options I could not select "Portable Device" because my Xbox 360 had not synched with it yet. Does anyone know how to do this?
