Can you use Krylon spray paint to paint the inside of a microwave oven?

On the door inside my microwave it is starting to rust just a littel bit. The microwave oven isn't that old. I was wondering if you can spray Krylon indoor/outdoor paint on it or will that become toxic and kill everybody?

When touch up is done.during the manufacturing process krylon paint is used on many top brand mic. ovens. Microwave ovens are powder coated but streaks do occur and are touched up

No - No - No -- toxic for sure. Clean rusted area w/steel wool, and coat w/liquid cooking oil to stop rust. Start saving up for a new nuker.

Not that I disagree, but I am wondering what type of paint is used on the inside of a microwave and why would it be toxic after it has dried? After all Microwaves do not heat up the inside of the oven surface. But since I do not know what the effects would be I would play it safe if I were you.

I would recommend that you contact the manufacturer and ask them directly, they may have a different and better solution. Otherwise I like the cooking oil answer.

Krylon paint is not rated for heat (and some foods heated also emit steam) and are not food safe either.
