Can you use a Pay as you go phone with Normal Service

I want to stay away from a new contract, but all the phones are $200 or more to buy from Verizon wireless. Target has a Verizon pay as you go phone for $22.00. If I can buy this phone and add it to my normal acct would save me a lot of money. Can this be done? Thank you

A prepaid phone must be on a prepaid account for six months before it can be moved to a postpaid account.

yeah I wanted to do that before I moved to t-mobile..you need to have it for 6 months on a prepaid account
