Can you use 50/50 bulbs to culture phytoplankton?

or what is the best type of bulb to use?
I have a 6500 k light I'm using now.

Apparently the other guy didn't read the question. A 50/50 bulb would be good to use but the phytoplankton don't gain any benefit from the actinic spectrum. Personally I use a 10000k power compact bulb that results in a much faster grown. Good luck.

If the fish act normal when you put them in then yes go ahead, but if the freak out ide have it on and off just to let them get used to it, Hope I Helped You !
