Can you upgrade early on Vodafone?

No. You can only upgrade a month before your upgrade is due so if you had a 18 month contract you could upgrade on the 17th month. The only way to get a newer model whilst your on contract is to buy it.
 
Say I was to pay to pay £200 for an iPhone 4 for £35 for 18 months, and 6 months later a new model came out, would it be possible to upgrade there and then? If so how much? How about another 6 months down the line?

Thanks! This'll be my first contract phone so any info will be gratefully accepted.
