Can you tell me what's wrong/how to fix the turn signal on my '92 Buick Regal?

I just got this car from a friend to mine as a simple point a to point b car. It is in excellent condition, however, the left turn signal is a bit off. It rarely works, and when it does, it's after much jiggling and toggling back and forth between the right and left signals. The right turn signal is not having any issues, and works fine. I'm thinking it's just a short in a wire, but i have no idea how to even start looking at fixing it. I used to work on a lot of old cars with my dad, but anything beyond made after 1980 is a complete mystery to me.

I would try the easy stuff,
Is it really you jiggling the turn signal arm or is it chance ?
If its really you and the signal arm then go to local car parts store
and ask them about it, They will take 5 mins and show you how to pull steering wheel (If needed) etc to get at and replace/repair turn signal switch. If this car has a air bag, don't do this without instructions.

Now if it really inst you jiggling doing this, Check the flasher and replace as 1 side might be damaged, also does the light come on but not blink... This would indicate a wire to one of the bulbs (Front or rear) is loose, pull lites apart and look for loose or corroded connections.

hope this helps.
