I am trying to recall the name of a movie which revolved around an amoeboid-type creature which had devoured everyone in a small town. One or two women break down in this town, I think, and there may be a police officer or sheriff in the mix. I remember the creature was able to absorb brains/knowledge and split itself into smaller creatures ( which could assume human form and at some point turned into a flock of something resembling mutalisks.) I believe the military showed up at the end and they lit it on fire, but I am not sure. Thanks!
