Can you take other science classes instead of biology in college?

It's kind of hard to go to a science class and ask them not to teach science man. But just go to Liberty, you'll be just fine there. I believe they still teach that Jesus road a dinosaur.

As in, do they make you take classes that would show evolution and teach it, or can you choose other sciences that have nothing to do with evolution?
which is the easiest? Because i've always sucked in science, I guess it's because of the evolution that they tack on do it. :)
no, Paul tells us that in Nature we can see God is real, so nature makes perfect sense to me. ^_^

And my "brethren" may be able to do that, but we're all different. :)

If you don't accept evolution you will have no chance with any of the life sciences, sorry.

If you are not majoring in science and you have a science requirement, just take physics. Lots of projectiles and falling object and stuff. If you are majoring in chemistry, you most likely will be required to take a year of biology. Same with anthropology.

Well science requires an ability to be open minded and accept evidence. If you can't accept evolution with it's massive amount of evidence then I would say your ability as a scientist is not looking good.

Science is the search for the truth (not based on beliefs but on evidence).

Yes, you can take other science classes other than biology in college.

However, all sciences (chemistry, physics, materials science, geology) share a common theme. They all use the scientific method, based on experiment and evidence gathering to expose truth.

If you are trying to avoid critical thinking, I suggest you steer clear of all sciences.

They don't "tack on" evolution. Evolution is key to understanding all life sciences. Your religion is blinding you and preventing you from educating yourself and that is so sad.

You could always take Botany, but there will still be evolution involved.

How about chemistry and physics? Nobody is going to force you to take biology, unless the US education system is even more b0rked than I thought.

Physics is generally easiest, as long as you can do mathematics. Not scary maths either, it's really not too difficult at all if you're doing Physics 101 as opposed to quantum physics.

Also, all sciences are connected somehow. And evolution isn't 'tacked onto' science, it is a major part of biology.

I am sure that there are classes that don't talk about evolution just do some research and look into it.

I took it along with anatomy, chemistry, Microbiology etc.

Not biggie. I didn't have to agree with them to take the class.

It should be compulsory. Because it is a proved peer reviewed, established fact.
Ignoring facts in favor of unsubstantiated fairy stories does not make you clever, it makes you an idiot. :)

Practicing Shaman... quantum physics rocks.

It depends on what your major is. I'm a education major and had to take biology (yes, they taught evolution) but my friend is can choose what she wants to take with her major.
So if you're worried about it, look into your major requirements. If you have to take it, think of it as an opportunity to learn the point of view of others and be able to better defend your own view against it. That's what I did.

This is all assuming you don't believe in evolution...

I've had to have 2 biology classes and 2 physical science classes. The physical science was easier for me and I'm not that great with science either so...

Absolutely -- chemistry, physics, astronomy, etc.

If you take a biology course, they will inevitably talk about evolution -- without the theory of evolution as the underlying principle, nothing in biology makes sense, and degenerates into just a bunch of facts to memorize with no relation to one another.

And you can still pass the course by learning and regurgitating the information taught -- I got an "A" in my Ancient Literature class, but believing that Gilgamesh and Beowulf were real people was not a prerequisite for the class.

Seriously -- what are you afraid might happen?

EDIT: "Tacked on"?!?!

You're completely missing the point -- it's only through the lens of evolution that anything we observe in nature makes ANY sense!

I'd really recommend you take the biology course -- you've just demonstrated here that your education is SORELY lacking in that regard. Keep in mind also: nearly half of your brethren are able to reconcile the facts of evolution with their belief in God, with no problems at all...

Yes, Chemistry is a good example as well physics. Geology count as a science under various majors as do Psychology and Sociology .
