can you still have sex if your doctor says your uterus still has to heal a bit.?

i went to my 5 week check up and got contraceptives but my doctor didn't tel me if i could have sex yet or not all she said was everything looked good but my uterus still had some healing. does any one know if it is safe to have sex?
