Can you solve this riddle?

Following the one sixth of my life I spent as a child,
I spent one twelfth of my life as a young man.
One seventh of my life later, I married.
Five years after that, I had a son, but sadly, he only lived half as long as I did.
Four years after his death, I died.


How old was the mathematician?
Please explain if you can :)
 
I think there is information missing that prevents one from coming up with a number, so this may be some sort of trick question.
Am I the mathematician here? Should I state my own age, since I am doing the calculations?
