Blind Cecil was the son of a great mathematician, Count Numero. Numero would later become an important contributor to the Guild’s Deciphering Department.
Unfortunately, Numero met an untimely end when he stumbled upon an equation that would unlock the treasure of Mathos.
His son, Blind Cecil, was the only other pirate in the world who could recall any information about his father’s last equation. The Guild tried its best to coax as much information as it could from the poor blind boy, but all we could gather was the following information:
- Cecil knows only 10 numerical digits: 0 - 9
- His arithmetic (in poor penmanship) produced the following equations:
7 + 2 = 0
8 + 7 = 6
Yer Objective
Blind Cecil’s father’s unsolved equation, as gathered from his son:
(1 / 7) + 9 - 8 x 6 = ____
Solve Count Numero’s equation and explain your theory, based on Blind Cecil’s knowledge of math, and the Guild will award you well.
NOW...find the answer to this riddle, and decribe in full detail how you came upon the answer (note I don't know that answer...that's why I'm asking you xD)
If you sucessfully do this, you'll get the ten points ^_^ good luck!
