We had a lot with a lot of trees, they were removed a couple of years ago because of termites (the ground has been treated since then), age, etc. Now the ground is wet, muddy & marshy and producing TONS of mosquitoes . I planted a Cork Screw Willow hoping that it will help with the water situation and want to plant more additional trees for the same reason. My dad says that it will not help and that I should not plant more trees, since it was so costly to remove the others. Who is correct? I think that the roots will help absorb the water and the leaves will help protect the ground from mass saturation....what do you think?
There are natural springs under the ground, lots of them. But the problem wasn't as bad as it is now. The problem with chickens are that I live in the city limits and they have to be contained in fencing, 150 ft from any residence other than my own and it is not possible. Been there, done that. But thanks for that suggestion.
