Can you see a motive for American Christians to sabotage the education system?

Here’s a motive; the annual turnover for Christianity in the USA is in the billions. Uneducated people fall for religion more easily than educated people. Religious businesses would not find it as easy to trick people into handing over their money if people were more educated so they have a motive to sabotage the education system, keeping people dumb and easily mislead. Do you think this is why religious people are actively promoting an anti-intellectual agenda?

Irish Catholics (who would qualify as "religious" people) in a study not many years back were found to be the most educated Americans. I don't know where you got the erroneous idea that education and religion are enemies.
