Can you salvage data from a broken flash drive?

I’m not saying that my 2GB Cruzer is smashed up beyond recognition but it just stopped reading a few weeks ago. I haven’t been able to do anything about it in the meantime.

But I was wondering, if I went to a tech store like...Best Buy for instance, would they be able to help me? And, if so, would it be costly?
