Can you ride a bicycle from Calif to new york on a bicycle trail ?

On the east coast you can ride a bicycle on the green way from florida to new york, Here in South Texas you can ride in a bicycle lane from McAllen texas to Harlingen Texas by hwy 83 its 34 miles, Why don't people here in the USA ride bicycles more like thay do in China? when i was 60 i ride a bicycle from McAllen Texas to arkansas,I'm 65 now i still ride a bicycle
 
Because we have cars.

Many Chinese are giving up their bikes in favor of cars now.
