Okay so I bought a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire a week ago today. I used it on tuesday, wednesday and thursday but when I went to go to work on Friday, it wouldn't start. We called the car place where we got the car (Castle Chevy in Villa Park, Illinois...NEVER GO THERE!) and they said they would send a towtruck free of charge to come pick it up and look at it. So they picked it up yesterday and called this morning. They said they figured out that the problem was with the fuel tank and that they would repair it but it's going to cost $600 and the towing would cost $150 which we made sure to confirm when we called them in the first place was free. Unfortunately, the car came with no warranty. However, since I had only been driving the car for 3 days, I knew it was nothing I had done to cause the fuel tank to break and the car had to have already had problems with it.
So, I don't have the money to get it fixed and pay for the tow (that they said was free, they also said fixing it would be free) I need to return the car, get my down payment back and go buy another car from somewhere else. Also I know there are lemon laws but I don't think they cover my situation.
