Just recently bought a new carb for a 2000 honda 70xr. It came with the hoses and a new throttle connector, however, the old connector for the throttle doesn't want to come off and I'm wondering if it's removable or if I need to buy a new throttle cable.

It should be soldered on. You need to apply gentle heat to melt the solder, then re-solder it to the new cable. A soldering iron will help!

Not sure what you mean by "connector"
Do you wan to remove the throttle cable from the throtthe slide?
Hold the throttle slide in one hand.
Pull the return spring out of the slide.
Remove the cable.
