Can you remember just waiting for the final bell?

The Last Period Of The Day

Alone, I stand before a hostile class.
I thank the universe, this is the last.
Tomorrow morning, I begin again,
Teaching unruly kids, who know no shame!
Here’s the instant reward generation;
Heaven help the future of our nation.
Yes, everything is demanded right now;
So much want and need, kills the sacred cow.
Fast food and endless crap entertainment,
Does not encourage one’s self attainment.
These students are young and mostly foolish,
Worshipping vampires ever so ghoulish.
No honest work ethic, no compassion,
Mere adolescents; a slave to fashion.
They all think they are ever so unique
But they are merely a mob, never chic.
In a trance, we watch and wait; trapped in Hell,
All of us waiting, for the final bell!
