...censored like mainstream media, yet ? doesn't make things up? I'm interested in a different take on current world events. No political extremist sources please.

All media is censored.

No news reporter is without filters that shape and define the news. No organization truly and effectively reports news without bias. It is outside the scope of possibility of the human animal.

You cant find uncensored, but you can find ways around the censorship.
When you want an interesting idea of what is going on in Georgia, try reading turkish news, russian news (Pravda), and the bbc on the same event. Each has a bias.
When you want to understand and indo-pakistani event, read chinese reports (if they exist), al-jazeera, and the times of india. Each has bias, both political and religious. Knowing that you can see the bias, and get an idea of the story behind the bias.

Seeing the different perspectives makes both the truth (average) and the bias (standard deviation) apparent. After familiarizing yourself with the bias, you can then know what bias to expect from which types of news sources.

In the US there is essentially one news feed.

If you notice, the stories with more pictures and better writing tend to support the liberal bias in the media hypothesis while overall stories have a more balanced bias. I think that small-town papers, and news stations are lazy and lean toward the stories where the work has already been done for them.

I hope that helps.

Sadly when it comes to telling the truth, Politicians have trouble telling it and news agency's can have problems from govements in reporting it.

This one is quite good, it makes no secret of the fact that it's a bit anti establishment, but by definition it would be, by reporting news that is likely to be suppressed by the gov.
