Can you recharge your Wii Remote while playing a game?

I have a rechargeable Wii remote with an official Wii recharger stand. Is it possible to recharge the Wii remote while leaving the game on. For example: It's the game Animal Crossing and I just unplugged the Nunchuck out of the remote and put the remote into the charger while the game's still on...I just don't know if the remote is actually recharging.
 
i dont think so u would prolby be draining as much energy from contorller as u gaining and u mite damage batteries
