Hopeless Soul

I always feel like I’m waiting for something
But the only thing I don’t know
Is that I’m going to find nothing
I’m drowning in despair
And the feeling of hope has disappeared

Revealing my secret
Is the only thing I fear
The feeling of emptiness
Has never left
This unconquerable emptiness

Occupies my heart
Making sure it stays icy
And hard as stone
It feels like the blood in my veins is cold
Feels like it sits in my veins giving off no heat

The chill never leaves
I never escape the tears
That attack me every night
I sometimes want to scream
And I sometimes want to cry

How peaceful it would be to die
To die a peaceful death
With no pain and no sadness
The feeling of sorrow
Starts the throbbing in my wrists

What I would feel if I did
What was hard to resist
What I felt compelled to try
It’s time to decide
To put the rusty blade away

usually i dont write about someone cutting themselves, and i dont even like mentioning it, because it never felt right...but this time it did. now in this poem, the person didnt cut themselves, but they were attemting to. and if you can think of a better title, PLEASE PLEASE let me know! for some reason i kind of feel like it one doesnt fit with the poem as well as my titles fit with my other poems....well i hope you enjoy it....this one popped into my head while i was watching TV or something, like all the other ones do.....

I thought that the poem was very emotional and had good imagery. I am unsure about a title though. I always take one line from the poem and make it a title. Like ummm, oh wells, I dont know lol. I would say like "Hopes edge?"

It is very good.
What do you think of entitling " ANIMULA " or, if you prefer " LITTLE SOUL ".
There is a Poem , 18 centuries old , of the roman emperor Hadrian , who is known, by its beginning " Animula, vagula, blandula "
Read it !
