in january 08 my boyfriend enlisted in the navy. Now in may 08 he tore his ACL and got surgery in june 08. The doctor told him that he wouldnt be prepared for bootcamp until may of 09 but his recruiters told him that they will disregard what the doctor said and that he can leave january 12th 09. Well he left for boot camp and called this morning to tell me hes ben medically discharged. So is that it? Can he never be in the navy or could he reenlist after he heals?

depends on his RE code on his DD214. He'll most definently need a waiver to re-enter. There will also more than likely be a waiting period before he can re-enlist. Could be 6 months to 2 years depending.

It depends. I know you'd have to fight it - because they don't just give medical discharges unless they really don't think you should be in the navy. There are several posts for this exact same question on Y answers... just search "navy medical discharge" and you can view some of those answers too.
