Not a "race worthy" ... you could enter at a low difficulty track with the beginner class. Don't go to a large AMA sanctioned race. You could get the taste of what it is all about.
To modify your bike you would spend over 2 grand, and never have it fully competitive.

I have a klx 140L and I was wondering if you maybe put an exhaust system on it and jetted the carb or something would it be race-worthy? I have had the motorcycle for 5 months and have been riding on motocross tracks and doing trails but have not raced before.(other than racing friends on their bikes) I want to start racing, but dont want to spend another couple thousand on a new racing bike if I can set mine up to be race ready. All help is appreciated, thanks

no dont do any mods to that bike. if you really want to start racing i would invest in a actual motocross bike. you could step up to a 125 race bike. but those bikes arent meant to race so if you will be riding moto a lot get a race bike and sell your 140.
