i started the bean soup too soon, my husband wont be home for lunch for another hour and a half and the beans have been on for around an hr and a half already and they seem ready to eat! if i leave them on low for an extra hr and a half or so will they be ok? or over cooked and no good?

i have kidney beans, lentils, and some other bean in there.
they are not canned beans they are dry

if they already look ready to it,then i say take them off the stove. And you know you can always put them in the microwave too if they get old

Your beans (I am assuming you are talking about canned beans) could get mushy if cooked too long and stirred too often. Your best bet in my opinion would be to put a lid on them and turn off the heat. Then 15 minuets before he comes home turn the heat back on and cook on Medium to re-heat.
