can you only get the blackberry 8520 on tmobile?

so i went to carphone warehouse and i was told that i could get a contract with 8520 on vodaphone but all reviews say it is a tmobile phone can i use it with vodaphone if unlocked

you can use a phone on any network if its unlocked
