Just like there's a top Party School list, there is a top Stone-Cold Sober list. The lists are determine between how many hours the average student parties to how many hours the student studies. Most of the Stone-Cold schools are private, religious universities and military academies. Before, your friend starts applying like mad to Stone-Cold schools, he needs to do some research on the schools and the college towns (like how BYU is owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). Don't let the title of "Party School" turn your friend away from great education opportunities. The cities where party schools are located have a lot more to do then to party out of boredom.
Also, no one in college is going to put you down in college for refusing to drink nor force you to drink. If someone asks why you refuse to drink, you can always tell the person why ("it's against my religion", "personal reasons", "I just don't feel like drinking").
