Can you move PS3 DLC to a flash drive?

I just got a 40g ps3 and finally got it hooked up to the internet. In doing so i discovered all the cool tv show episodes in HD that i can buy. The problem is, i dont want to suck up all of my PS3's hard drive with HDTV content. Is it at all possible to download content (like tv shows or movies) then store them on a flash drive rather then on the ps3? And if so, does it require a special ps3 flash drive or will any PC flash drive work?
 
well it is possible now once you buy an episode or movie just stick a memory card or flash drive to your PS3 go to the video and press triangle there will be an option to backup your videos and movies to a memory card or memory stick
