Can you loosen gas pedal on 1988 Chevy Cheyenne?

Get gum out spray (carb cleaner). Spray all the linkage that moves (under the hood) with the gas pedal.

If you don't know what to spray (clean), have somebody play with the gas pedal (engine off), while you look under the hood. It will be clear what is the throttle.

The gas pedal on my truck seems to be really tight, I just got the truck a few months ago and every time I push on the gas pedal it doesn't want to move at first but then when it does move it goes nearly halfway down. With it being a manual transmission it gets annoying and I'd like to get it to move more freely if possible. Thanks for any answers.
 
I Had a 88 mine did the same thing you get used to . I donot remeber check to see if there is a spring on the trolote be fuel injection unit
