can you join the army if i go bankrupt?

I want to know if i can join the army if i go bankrupt the careers office are unsure, i am well aware of the fact you can't join withs tons of debt due to your start wages hence why i am concidering going bankrupt.it states on the application "have you ever been bankrupt and as a result cannot have a bank account in order to pay wages". as i already know you can get cash card acounts as a bankrupt would this be an issue? I can't seem to find information anywhere.
 
i'm not sure but one thing i'm pretty sure of is, if you have debts, all your debts will "freeze" while your in basic training, that means you won't have to pay for interest fees and all while you're training.
