Can you hook an ipod to a factory car stereo?

I have a 2006 Trailblazer and the factory radio does not have a place to plug in an ipod (or any other MP3 player). Can you buy anything that will make a car stereo connect with an ipod? Someone told my you can buy something that connects to the back of the radio and the wire runs out the front, but I have not seen it anywhere.
