Can you help?

I was thinking back on a movie I watched as a little kid that terrified me.

I described it to a workmate who said she thought it was Journey to the Centre of the Earth.

What I remember are these humanoid bat-like creatures with big black wings that would envelope a person and you would hear a "liquid" sound while the creature digested the person then the wings would open and a pile of bones would drop down.

Any ideas? Is my workmate correct?

OMG I remember that to. They sort of shook and wobbled and you would see them from the back only.
What was that programme?

Did it have a blonde he-man style character.

and some kind of human sacrafice.

and i remember some weazels too.

Beast Master? Something like that rings a bell. Oh, I think there was ferrets in it, and there was a He-Man looking kinda guy.

Thank you so much for helping me out. As I said in my original post that the images of those bat-like creatures have haunted me for about 20 years now. It's amazing how something that terrifies you as a little kid can do that. I think I must have been around 8 at the time. I wish I could see it again now though as an adult to hopefully put it into some perspective.
