try to figure this one out... A mother is 21 years older than her child. In exactly 6 years from now, the mother will be exactly 5 times as old as the child
 
The baby was just born and the mother is twenty. In five years she will me twenty-five and the baby will be five.

Sorry, I misread the question. I don't know.
 
The mom is 20.25 years old when the child will be born in 9 months (so the child is -0.75 years old)

When the child is born the mom will be 21 yrs old

When the mom is 26.25 years old the child will be 5.25 yrs old.
 
C = child's age
m = mother's age

C + 21 = m

5(c + 6) = m + 6
= 5c + 30 = m + 6
= 5c + 24 = m

5c + 24 = c+ 21
4c + 24 = 21
4c = - 3
c = -3/4

-3/4 + 21
= 20 1/4
m = 20 1/4

The child will be born in 9 months.
The mom is 20 years and 3 months old.

The mother is 20 years and 3 months old, and barely pregnant.
