It is a 95 Honda Passport. I am having trouble with the transmission and maybe you can help. I think it is the alternator because it says it is charging at 16 volts while I am driving but the weird part is it will go up and down whenever the truck shifts. The transmission will shift fine if I have the lights and heater on but is this because it's putting out less volts? I am not sure if it has an electronic shift or not but I think the reason it shifts hard is because the alternator is putting out too many volts.
Oh the transmission light comes on whenever I drive without the lights and heater on. Am I on the right track and should I replace the alternator?
