I have a 1988 Yamaha 9.9 with controls. I just bought a 1993 Yamaha 40hp ELRR which doesn't have controls or harness. 7 pin on the controls side and 10 pin on the 40hp motor. What do i need to get this outfit up and running. Can I use the the existing Controls and harness or need to replace them. Does it need to be rewired. I read somewhere that 10 pin is for motors with tilt and trim which I do not have. Will the 7 pin and 10 pin connectors fit together perhaps?
Can you help me with a yamaha outboard?
