Can you help me out with a movie i saw,i can't remember it's title?

Okay.i saw this movie it was about a little kid named Ben,he travels on a cross country vacation with his mom and her boyfriend then they go to a hotel and Ben finds something that belongs to a guy.
looks valuable i think it's stolen.so the guy tries to kill ben and take the thing he found.please help.
