Can you help me cook Alaska Salmon?

A friend of mine just spent 8 days in Alaska fishing, and to my huge pleasant surprise brought me some today. I have never prepared seafood like this. Its one fish, head gone and tail gone, and cut into two (fillets I assume). That's how little I know, and of course still has scales.

I am very honored that he remembered me and I want the full experience and don't want to ruin these fillets. Simple but delicious would be best. I would even appreciate defrost suggestions as they are frozen solid right now. I am fully capable of using my oven, stove, and charcoal grill.
