ive always heard great things about the N95...still have yet to see a friend with one...or anyone for that matter

Right now I'm using an unlocked Treo 650 and have had it for about 4 years. I am updating to newer technology and I'm thinking of getting the Nokia N95 8gb, the Sony Ericsson P1i, the Sony Ericsson c902 (a bit different than the other 2 phones), or the Samsung innov8 . Since they are quite expensive, I want to try to get opinions before I leap into this purchase. Have you used any of these phones?

Do you have another phone to suggest that you've actually seen or used? I've had a Nokia in the past and remembered it as being a good phone.

Ideally, I'd like a quad band smartphone that has a touchscreen, voice dialing, large display, vibrate, good battery life, and good memory. If it has a high mega pixel camera (5 or above), that would be a definite plus, but not a deal breaker.

I do not need to send data (other than email) and am not really into IM'ing. :) I do not want a Blackberry, as I do not want to incur the additional charge each month associated with this brand.

I do not want Microsoft OS and I will be syncing to a Mac.

One of the places I'm considering is techforless.com and I've read some good reviews of the place. Has anyone shopped there??

Thanks for your help. :D

I have a Nokia N95 8gb and it has always worked great for me. I recommend it, but then, I like to IM and have put a tonne of software on it.

i had one of these phones but wasnt impressed with the battery but the luna i got wasnt much better

I may just wait until the new Android phone ships from Australia. I tried to post the link, but don't have enough posts to be able to do so. If you are interested, go to apcmag.com and search for the story about the 1st Australian Android phone.

Looks cool and is more reasonably priced. It has a smaller display, but I think I could get used to that. No decisions until it's been evaluated, though.

Nokia 5800 could be a good fit for you its Quad-Band, touchscreen, WiFi, 3G comes in either EURO or US ver. Camera is 3.15 not too bad. 8 + hours on talk time & 400 + hours of stand by.

I would also recommend checking out the Nokia E71. I had a E61 for years and loved it. Got a chance to play with the 71 for a few days in the UK, great phone.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just looked at it and it's a nice phone, but no querty keyboard. :)

Thanks for your suggestion. I looked at this phone, but I felt the keys were too cramped for me to use easily. I didn't really play with the keyboard though, just a quick look. I will definitely look again, since you've actually used this model. :)

Thanks for your reply. I almost got the N95 yesterday (just wish the price would come down a bit) when I read about the New N97. It seems to have everything I wanted in a new phone...a touchpad, a full querty keyboard, and the other assorted goodies that the N95 has. Now I'm trying to decide if I should wait until that's released in the US and whether or not the price will be anywhere near my budget. Perhaps that will need to be relegated to the 'phone after next' place...*sigh*

Thanks for your input. I go the Nokia N95 8gb (factory sealed) about 3 weeks ago and I love it! I ended up spending about $430, including shipping and the extended 2 year warranty.

Thank you for your input. :)

I would strongly recommend nokia n95 8gb edition, as it truly is a remarkable phone. You will not regret buying it, as for n97 goes, it will probably be quite expensive and I doubt that it is much better than n95 8gb. Really at least try it and you will like it, ask someone you know who has it to lend it to you.

I have just received a 10% discount from one of the places I've been watching the N95 8gb, so with a 2 year extended warranty it will be about $440. I think that's a good price. Although, I'm sure that in the new few months the price will drop because the N97 will be coming out. I love the design of that phone, but at $600 (approx) it's much more than I want to spend.
