I built a PC that has been working for about three years. Yesterday, I decided to add a case light to it. As far as adjusting the hardware was concerned, I only plugged an additional four-pin connector up to the power supply.
Since then, I have been unable to turn on the computer. When I press the power on, The light in the front of the case turns green. There is also a green LED lit on the motherboard when the power supply is plugged in. No fans spin in the case. No fans spin in the PSU. No noise is produced and the computer gives no response to having been turned on.
I thought maybe I had pushed the old PSU one step to far, and I installed a brand new 500W PSU. It produced the same result: Green motherboard light, front case power led on when power switch is pressed, but nothing else happens.
I am having the same luck even now that I have disconnected all drives and have only the PSU, motherboard, and CPU connected. Any ideas as to what is broken? CPU? Both PSUs? MoBo?
