answers? its understandable how you guys are concerned about your medical problems but seriously not everyone here has studied medicine. even doctors who have studied and trained for years and years in their areas of specialization make mistakes. they make incorrect diagnosis once in a while despite being professionals and "experts" in their field. how much more people who have not studied medicine? diagnosing a patient is a step-by-step process. two important things are necessary for this: history-taking (this is when the doc interviews you) and the physical examination. posting signs and symptoms online is not only incomplete but also very prone to misinterpretation by a lot of people.
Incorrect diagnosis --> incorrect treatment --> problem worsens
so please go directly to the doctor.
obviously this isn't a question. just something i felt people should know.
"Illness is very scary and sometimes the doctors treat you more as your disease than as a person." THAT depends on which doctor you go to. Reassurances? I don't think being reassured by an incorrect guess is actually *reassuring* itself.
"And cannot the reassurance oft times convince people to go because others have been there before them?" It MAY but each patient is different. Two patients who have the same disease can have different clinical manifestations. THIS HAPPENS because diseases cannot be put into a box. they don't follow the books *all the time*.
