Yesterday, my Dad told me about some symptoms he's been having that has me concerned, but he won't call a doctor. I was hoping someone here could help me out.
He has a rash on the right side of his chest. He also said that a couple days ago is when he noticed it, and that it was accompanied by a headache on the right side of his head, and a sore throat that was concentrated mostly on the right side of his throat. He said there was also some muscle soreness in the area where the rash is. I thought all this sounded kind of serious, but he says that the other symptoms have diminished, but the rash is still there.
He bought some lotion to put on the rash, thinking it is poison ivy or poison sumac or something like that. I told him that there are many conditions that can cause a rash. Also, I think it is unlikely to be what he thinks it is since the rash is on his chest and under his shirt! He said he thought he might have brushed up against some weeds or something.
So, with what I've described, what do you think of these symptoms? What do you think might be the cause?
